Psychological services to support General Practitioners

Many patients who present with health problems also have underlying psychological and emotional issues that need to be addressed but cannot be handled effectively within the framework of a standard consultation.

For these patients, ongoing work with a qualified experienced Psychologist and Psychotherapist can be of enormous value, supporting the GP's work with specific health issues.

For some years now I have been working with local medical practitioners, offering counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families for a broad range of issues.

My aim in treatment is to provide people with an opportunity to develop useful skills to overcome specific problems and support them to develop more helpful ways of predicting and overcoming problems in the future.

I am able to take on new clients and co-work with you to help them as appropriate. My services include:

• Assessment
• Therapy (using a variety of modalities including Interpersonal Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Couples and Family Therapy, CBT, Problem Solving, Communication & Assertiveness Training)
• Psychometric testing
• Reporting

'Care taking' patients while you are on leave

We all need regular breaks but patients continue to need treatment while we are on leave.

I am able to see people for you during your holidays, ensuring that your patients have competent ongoing assistance while you are enjoying your break. I am happy to 'care take' these people and report back when they return to you.
