My Approach - How I Work
The basis of psychology
The basis of the work of psychology is that you can learn about yourself, learn new skills for living, and make changes in your life, which can allow you to be the person you wish to be.
This may sound fairly straightforward but in fact psychologists have extensive training in a variety of different methods that are continually being researched and developed to help people be more effective in making life changes.
Methods I use
Some of the methods that I use include: - Problem solving - Communication and assertiveness training - Couples and family therapy - Interpersonal therapy - Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) - Gestalt therapy
Personal responsibility
I believe that people are responsible for their own lives and that it is important for all of us to take personal responsibility for our choices in life. And I am passionate about helping people to develop the skills they need to thrive in all aspects of their life.
